We left Cherbourg almost under a storm warning, as we needed to use two days of the Northern tailwind. Strong waves from the Northern Atlantic started immediately after the pier.

After 24 four hours of a “shaker,” when it sometimes seemed that one could walk on the cabin walls, we decided to hide in Treguier, a small but a beautiful town in Northern Brittany with a medieval 11th-century cathedral.

The town is situated on the river whose tides may reach 10 meters.

We could not resist the temptation and caught some fish. Forbidden but so tasty!

The next destination was a village at the very end of Brittany, Albertville.

Tides and flows were simply indecent. Steeplejacks were repairing the tower of the town hall and we rested under the palms.

And there it was – the Bay of Biscay and the first companions.

Three days of almost doing nothing and we’re in Spain. The town of Viveiro with its narrow streets Delta Sails to Spain and the mideval bridge over the river around the mountain and nearly subtropics.
